Pod System Setup and Use Guide

A pod system is built around a replaceable pod and a tight, cigarette-style draw. Set one up in the right order and the flavour stays clean and the pod lasts the way it should.

Fitting the pod

• Line the pod up with the bay and press it down until it sits flush with the body of the device.
• If it stands proud of the frame or rocks in the slot it is not seated. Lift it out and press it home again before you fill it.

Choosing the e-liquid

• Salt nicotine: this is what pod systems are designed around, and what these small pods wick properly.
• Not freebase vape juice: it is mixed for larger devices with bigger tanks, so keep it for those and leave the pod on salt nicotine.

Filling, priming and topping up

• Open the fill port and add the liquid slowly, stopping at the fill line. Going past it leaves no air space inside the pod and pushes liquid straight back out.
• Press the rubber stopper back in until it sits flat against the pod body.
• Stand the pod upright and leave it five to ten minutes before the first draw. The wick needs that time to soak through, and a dry wick scorches the moment power reaches it.

Liquid escaping from the pod

• When it started tells you where to look: a leak that shows up straight after a refill points at the fill seal, while one that builds up during ordinary use points at the pod itself.
• Dry the junction: take the pod out and wipe the metal contacts and the inside of the bay with a dry tissue. Liquid trapped between pod and device is what makes a small leak keep coming back.

Charging and battery faults

• Nothing happens on the cable: look into the charging port before you blame the device. Pocket lint and dust pack into it over time, so clear it with a small dry brush and plug in again.

The light flashes and nothing comes through

• Cause: either the battery has run down, or the pod is not making contact with the device.
• Action: put it on charge first, as a flat battery is the simpler explanation. If the light still flashes on a full charge, remove the pod, refit it and try again.

Burnt taste or a weak draw

• A flavour that has turned flat, sharp or scorched is the standard sign that the pod has reached the end of its working life. Nothing you clean or adjust brings it back, so fit a fresh pod.
• The same answer covers a draw that has gone weak. Once the coil inside the pod is spent, vapour and flavour fade together.

If a fault survives all of this, the device itself needs looking at rather than the pod.
